Artist's Comments

Here is my first week of ArtSlam sketchies. If there shall be three more weeks...I have no idea. We shall see. Take a look at the site. There's lots of great artists conjuring up some awesome arts.

Ready for a long descriptive wall? I thought not. Though sample if you wish. Basic descriptions of the presented characters.

OOO

EDIT - I thought better of having that massive text dump there, considering all the basic information is on the sketches. (OK, not really, but its easier just to point to the ArtSlam entries. [link] )

Awww, some cute sketches and characters there! :aww:
And all with their own quirks, it seems?

O.O Artslam? What is this awesomeness that I have been missing? *runs around the internet in search of information*

Oh, and I love every single one of those characters. I'm going to hazard a guess they're from your '08 NaNo novel?

I only found out about it a few days before it happened. It's a really nifty thing and though its started already...I still recommend doing the format for the heck of it this summer. Tis fun practice. :ahoy:

And thanks! Not all of them so far. Actually, only ones from the novel so far are Ronts, Veat, and Fluff. The others come about in later novels.

But these little idiosyncracies are what make them fun, right? :XD:

Wow, I love some of the dynamic poses here, and you seem to be working on solidifying your figure construction. Awesome! Esp. fond of the leaping Fluffmonster pose and the Robby/Rob comparison.

Also, Noone is terribly charmin'.

LE GASP A HUMAN BEAN. It's... it's not fuzzy! What can this be? Seriously, though, kudos on venturing into the brave world of drawin' humans! Not a bad first attempt, dude (you drew hands! Do you know how long it took me to get up the courage to draw hands?). One thing I'd suggest to help you continue is looking up some info on some of the various proportional markers in humans--I know there's a lot of info out there on how the various parts of the face relate to each other, and familiarizing yourself with those ratios will help increase your confidence with ol' Homo sapiens. They sound/look artificial, but knowing them takes a lot of the terror out of the endeavor, I've found.

I find this Motty thing intriguing. Veeeeery intriguing.
